Signing Ceremony of Memorandum of Understanding (MOU)

On 12 March 2016 (Saturday) at 10:00a.m., International Buddhist College signed Memorandum of Understanding (MOUs) with the Ñāṇasaṃvara Center for Buddhist Studies (NCBS) and Dongguk University at a meeting room of the Mahidol Learning Center, Mahidol University, Thailand.

The Signing Ceremony was initiated by a welcome speech of Mr. Pramote Nakhornthap, Chairman of the Advisory Board of the Foundation of His Holiness Somdet Phra the Ñāṇasaṃvara Centennial Commemoration. In his remark, he said, “Paṭiccasamupāda is all about cause and effect. Likewise, we are kammically here due to our karmic action in our previous life, and today mark a special day for us to embrace our mission towards peace and happiness of all living beings following the noble teachings of the Buddha.” Then the ceremony proceeded as follows:

Prof. Hwang Soonil introduced Buddhist Studies at Dongguk University, South Korea.

Prof. Kapila Abhayawansa introduced International Buddhist College (IBC), Thailand.

Asst. Prof. Dr. Pathompong Bodhiprasiddhinand introduced the Ñāṇasaṃvara Center for Buddhist Studies (NCBS), Thailand.

After introducing the missions and potential work of each university, all parties agreed and signed the MOUs happily at 11:30a.m. The celebration ended with a luncheon. The significance of these auspicious MOUs is to come together and put forward a concrete effort for the good of the many.
