The founder of International Buddhist College, Ven. Wei Wu, after the IBC graduation ceremony on September 20, 2015 conducting a Dharma sharing session with the residents, staff and visitors from Penang at 7.00 pm.
First of all, Ven. Wei Wu shared the video of Fo Guang Shan's “Hundred Issues of Sangha Community” entitled “Types of Forest Monasteries” with all members. Then, Ven. Wei Wu invited Ven. Ming Wei to share his experience while studying in Taiwan Fu Yan Buddhist Institute. Ven. Ming Wei briefed the members by reporting on the life-style and basic operation system of the institute. He stressed that life was rigorous and busy in the institute, yet it was very fulfilling and meaningful. He had benefited a lot being educated and growth from the disciplined lifestyle community for seven years, while he still maintains the daily routine manner.
Later, Ven. Wei Wu shared with the members his experience teaching in Fo Guang Shan Buddhist College many years ago. Shifu also mentioned the many difficulties which he faced while establishing the International Buddhist College in the past eleven years. He deeply realizes the importance of Buddhist education, emphasized that no matter how tough the task will be, he will continue the Buddhist education work. Besides that, he mentioned that Buddhism in the provision of education still fall far behind other religions.
While facing insurmountable problems, Shifu prays for the blessing of the Triple Gems. As the blessing of the Most Excellent merit from the Triple Gems, International Buddhist College has growth smoothly by overcoming all the difficulties faced. Only Dr. Fa Qing, who involved directly with Shifu in the establishing IBC could understand the hardships and difficulties which they had encountered together.
Both Dharma teachers’ advice has inspired the members, with meaningful Dharma sharing on the day of convocation ceremony of IBC.
